Are you stuck? Like a hamster on a wheel, spinning really fast, but not getting anywhere.
I had felt like that many times, until I developed a habit of writing daily intentions, positive affirmations and followed with SMART goals to accomplish these intentions. (SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Bound.)
This book is a result of such a practice. The affirmations (most of them as short poems) I wrote over the years, are now a part of this book. And voila, with its vibrant and glowing cover, it was in my hands in just a few weeks.
Since most of these writings were embedded in my journals, I rarely went back to them. Now that I have dug them out, put it in a book, the book sits on my bedside table. It is available on-demand. I chuckle that I use my own muse to amuse me.
For most of us, our biggest critic is that little voice inside, constantly critiquing and judging us.
Then, there is also the muse within us, believing in our capability, resourcefulness and potential.
As we gain more power, strength, courage and confidence; the inner critic with its shadows disappears.
We can live a life of conscious being, fully present to experience every moment of it.
You will notice that in my writings, I try to bring myself to the place of unitive consciousness often – place where body, senses, emotions, feelings, spirit or soul and thoughts come together. It is the unitive consciousness which allows us to harness the potential of our true selves. When I am in that place, I am happy, no matter what.
Below are some excerpts from the book.
Here is from the chapter on Happiness:
I am happy
I don’t know why
I feel like a miracle
I am a source of joy
Courage also shows up in my poems a lot. Courage is something I am continuously working on. Courage is the difference between life and intentional living. Courage is the difference between inaction and action. It is the difference between keeping the status quo to inviting change. For me, the days I find courage, I dance with the universe. We become one.
From the chapter on Courage:
The Choice Is Ours
To be conquered by fear
Or conquer that fear
The choice is ours
To be defeated by others
Or to defeat their attempts
To defeat us
The choice is ours
To be led by others or lead ourselves
The choice is ours
I have made a choice to lead myself
Let’s see where it leads to
Another theme you will find across the book, is the reference to the nature; the plants, the sun, the seasons, the birds and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. We are the beings of nature. Nature reminds me to be with it, follow its rhythms and flow with it. That is a source of pure joy and delight.
From the chapter on Being in the Moment:
I chase a rabbit on the trail
where blackberries grow wild
I eat berries to my heart’s desire
while the poor rabbits hide inside
My hope is that this book will ignite your inner light and help explore your infinite potential.
Ignite Your Light is available at: https://amzn.to/2ly4orq
As a part of the book promotion, I have been doing FREE motivational and inspirational, “Ignite Your Light” workshop followed by book reading and signing. The one hour long “Ignite Your Light” workshops are hands-on with easy ways to shift from a reactive mind to a place of creativity, trust, connectivity and vision. You will also see how the latest research in neuroscience supports these.
This workshop will be a perfect interlude to an All-Hands or a unique twist to a book-club discussion or other meet-ups which are looking for unitive leadership from its members, where the whole being shows up and not just the ego.
If there is a group of 10 or more interested in such a workshop, please contact anu@infinitepotentialleadership.com.
